The architecture

The vinotheque is hidden beneath the fresh, modern cube designed by the Viennese architect duo ALBERTONI, which rises out of the vineyards in the old Hager family press house from 1888. And there is a wine cellar that contains Hager's treasures as well as Hermann Hager's interesting collection of wine rarities from all over the world.

The few stone walls are carefully preserved, as is the stone surround of the arched door to the old vaulted cellar. The vaulted cellar is used as a storage and event area.

As an entrance and wine storage space, a space is created in the tension field of old stone walls, a concrete element that serves as a staircase and a glass roof stretched over it.

The upper guest room with sanitary facilities, office and kitchen is a simple, clear room with many windows and a large terrace as well as the future “beach” as a sun garden.

From the outside, the resulting object is a well-formed wooden cube, with window bands on the corner - a mixture of aluminum and wood.

There is also a large pergola that provides shade and defines the outdoor space. This creates space that encompasses without enclosing.

This pergola consists of two wings and gives the object the grace of a soaring bird taking off from above, from the hill.
