Profound, full of character and special - this is how not only the wines from Hager Matthias can be described, but also the winemaker himself. Matthias was asked to take on responsibility in his family business very early on. He can already draw on a wealth of experience, which has motivated and supported him in cultivating his vineyards biodynamically.

Today the company covers 15.5 hectares of vineyards in and around the small wine-growing town of Mollands. The strength of the family business is its diversity. Everything from loess and clay to different types of primary rock is represented in the northern Kamptal. Matthias knows how to use this diversity for his winemaking art. This also meant that Matthias Hager's range no longer focuses on the distinction between white and red, but rather a differentiation into a brown and blue line.

Matthias Hager's winery has been a member of the Demeter Association, the international association of biodynamic farmers, since 2008. He is by far one of the youngest, which suggests that biodynamic farming requires a lot of experience, intuition and patience. Read more about the association here: >> DEMETER
